Mission
The mission of Nashville Opportunities Industrialization Center (OIC) is to provide education, training, counseling and job placement services for citizens of the community who are disadvantaged economically, educationally, and socially.Our vision is to guide people on a successful road to self-achievement: leading to self-reliance.

Nashville Opportunities Industrialization Center (OIC) is a non-profit organization located in Nashville, Tennessee. Founded in 1968, Nashville OIC celebrates over 44 years of providing exceptional training and job placement for people who need a hand up, not a hand out. Classes are held Monday-Friday with an initial orientation every Monday morning at 8:00 a.m. for anyone interested in enrolling in Nashville OIC's programs and classes. Nashville OIC's office is conveniently located on multiple bus routes.

Nashville OIC offers: GED Preparation, Computer Training, Job Placement and Support Services including transportation and clothing for job interviews.
Assessment and Orientation
Orientation is held each Monday from 8:00 - 12:00 Noon. A photo ID is required.
... GED Preparation
This course offers customized training to participants and allows them to work at their own pace. Students are taught the necessary skills in reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies to obtain a GED. We use a combination of one-on-one instruction, classroom teaching, and the leading tutorial technology. The beginning level is based upon assessment result.
Classes are held M-F from 8:00 - 11:00 AM and M-TH from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.
Computer Training
State-of-the-art equipment and a new lab environment present OIC students with competitive training for today’s technical job market. The computer lab offers basic information in current business programs including: Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint. Email and Internet training are included.
Classes are held M-F from 8:00 -12:00 Noon.
Job PlacementOIC utilizes a career counseling approach designed by the needs of the people, which is in-depth and comprehensive, covering all phases of job search, job readiness, job placement, job development, career advancement and job retention to help participants become gainfully employed. Participants obtain training that will enable them to write cover letters and resumes, complete applications and improve communication and interviewing skills. Field trips to local career centers, job sites and public libraries are taken to explore employment opportunities in the community. Employer presentations are scheduled weekly.
Services are scheduled M-F from 8:00 - 4:30 PM.
