OUR CURRENT
PROGRAMS:
We provide 3 classes to
help our clients become ready to look to work: interview skills; How to write a
resume; Basic computer skills. Once a client has shown readiness to
look for work, we provide a list of employers who are open to hiring
ex-offenders and bus passes to help get to interview and to the first 2 weeks of work. We continue to work with clients to help deal with the
stresses of employment.
Ex-Offenders often need
the support of peers and counselors to adjust to their new lives. We provide weekly support group meetings and individual peer counseling to help them
make the adjustment.
These basics include
Health Care, Food, Clothing, Housing, Utilities, Drivers License, and Voting
Rights. We offer both information and financial assistance in these
areas.
HUGGS has partnered with
Nashville OIC and other agencies that will help clients receive their GED. HUGGS has also partnered with several colleges and universities in the
Nashville area to assist our clients in receiving
degrees.
HUGGS has two types of
housing program design to help clients and their families from being
homeless. Family Housing: families would share a house with another families
temporary. |
