Music City Mission

Provide clothing, food boxes, household items, furniture, counseling, holiday meals, and special events for needy families. The emphasis is on providing services for those coming out of homelessness, domestic violence and addiction centers, and prison.

Music City Mission is a Christian, Non-profit organization dedicated to "healing the city, one life at a time" through evangelism, discipleship and social action. We accomplish this by offering Meals, Clothing, Volunteerism, Food Boxes, Discipleship, and Evangelism Outreach.
Located in the heart of South Nashville, MCM has been serving hundreds of Nashville's families every month since September of 2003. MCM has consisently been in the top 20 of the United Way "211" referral agencies and in the Spring of 2010 moved up to the top 10. Music City Mission gives individualized attention, prayer and time to each and every family and situation. Being the hands and feet of Jesus is the most important way MCM can effectively make a difference in someone's life.

Music City Mission Events & Programs

Throughout the year Music City Mission offers several special events to families. Some of these include:
Ladies Luncheon: we hold this in the Spring and try to center it around Mother's Day. We invite women from domestic violence and addiction shelters, prison return ministries, low income housing and women we have served throughout the year to a very special luncheon where we "roll out the red carpet", pin the ladies with corsages and serve a 4 course meal. We also have a special singer and speaker come and share the Hope that is found in Christ! Some of our past guests have included: Kim McLean and Devon O'Day, Misty Freeman, Allison Durham Speer, Denise Jackson, wife of country singer, Alan Jackson, Jennifer O'Neil, National Recording Artist Tammy Trent and most recently Nicol Smith Sponberg. The ladies receive special gifts and a Bible also. This event is very personal and intimate for the women and one that is bathed in much prayer.
Thanksgiving Meal: MCM has served a Thanksgiving meal to hundreds of families from numerous continents the past several years. It's a joy to celebrate and give thanks together and reflect on what God has done.
Christmas Party: This special day is held the Saturday before Christmas. We have two parties, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. The children sing Christmas Carols, hear the Christmas Story read to them from the Bible, enjoy holiday treats and they receive gifts! This is always an exciting time for adults and children alike. We've also been privileged to have "Larry the Cucumber" and "Bob the Tomato" from the popular "VeggieTales" series come and spend time with the children. Through the support of many friends and churches, MCM is able to give 1500-2000 toys to hundreds of children and have 50 or more volunteers. This event is one of our finest and a lot of hard work and preparation goes into it. If you'd like to be a part of our 2012 Christmas Party, please contact us and our team will get in touch with you. You won't be sorry you invested in this event!
Easter Celebration: MCM holds an Easter Egg Hunt and Celebration the Saturday before Easter. We share the story of Easter and the Resurrection of Jesus, serve snacks and the children hunt eggs.
Referral Services: Since we can't be everything to everybody, we do a tremendous amount of networking with other agencies, referring clients to other agencies that serve needs that are not within our ability. These referrals are reciprocated back to us for services we provide. These referral services mainly have to do with financial services and shelter.
Mission Groups: MCM has been pleased to host numerous Youth and Mission Groups from all over the country throughout the spring and summer doing community service projects at the mission as well a special projects for the people we serve. This is a great opportunity for the teens to give of themselves to others.
Counseling Services: We have a partnership with Pastor Counseling Centers of Middle Tennessee to provide onsite counseling in the following areas: depression, alcoholism and other addictions, marital distress, family, issues, sexual abuse, stress, anxiety, and other related issues. This service is critical in pursuing our mission statement.

In addition to these, MCM hosts special church services and meals and other events. Stay tuned to this site to keep up with all that's happening.
