·         residential treatment center specializing in serving children with histories of trauma, neglect, physical and sexual abuse, and trauma induced experiences

·         treatment designed around youth’s age, developmental needs, cognitive level, past traumatic experiences, and method of learning

·         Services:

·         trauma informed milie; 24-hr staff supervision & support; comprehensive assessment; individual, group, and family therapy; crisis intervention; 24-hr nursing services; recreation therapy; psychiatric services; psychological testing & consultation; multi-disciplinary treatment planning; discharge and aftercare planning; on-site educational programming; 24-hr electronic surveillance

·         Admission criteria:

·         Adolescent females:

·         ages 10-17 upon admission

·         FSIQ of 65 or greater

·         history of traumatic experiences which may include:

·         sexual abuse, incest, physical abuse, severe neglect, emotional abuse, exposure and witnessing of violence, multiple abandonments, and unexpected traumatic losses

·         may struggle with self-injurious behaviors, mild eating disorders, dissociative problems, acute stress disorder, PTSD, hypersexuality, or other reactive difficulties

·         Adolescent males:

·         ages 9-17 upon admission

·         verbal IQ greater than 54

·         adjudicated and/or non-adjudicated sexually abusive behavior

·         no indication of an active psychosis/suicidal/homicidal ideation upon admission

·         DSM-IV diagnoses are medically and cognitively stable

·         individual is medication compliant

·         group care

·         adoption

·         foster care

·         family support

·         early childhood (day care & ministry program)

·         special education (ages 5-18, need for highly individualized care; meant for children with educational handicap or behavioral problems;  5:1 student-teacher ratio; additional clinical support)

·         adventure programs (group trips)
