New
Housing for You...
We have just
completed a new building on the corner of 3rd Avenue and Chestnut
Street that we are marketing to social service providers. If
enough of you are interested in living here, it could become a perfect blend of
an intentional community (where you are involved in similar careers) and
independent apartment living.
There are 10
one-bedroom apartments with stained concrete and wood floors, high ceilings,
granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and great views of the
Nashville Sounds fireworks! These apartments have an uptown feel and
location. The rent ranges from $625 to $675...and you just won't find a
better value and style for your money. Call Brent at 726-2696, ext. 124
for an appointment to see them.
New
Housing for Your Clients...
We're
finishing up the rehabilitation of several new complexes in the Chestnut Hill
area. These are mostly one-bedroom apartments with new wood or tile
floors, black appliances, ceiling fans and gated entrances. They will be ready
soon, so it's time to go ahead and get your client's name on the list. We
will call you or them back when the apartments are available.
One of the
complexes will be Alcohol-Free.
People who would like
to live at this complex will be required to voluntarily abstain from any use of
alcohol (and of course, drugs, too). This complex is not designed as
recovery housing, but more for those who just want to get away from drama that
alcohol can sometimes produce. There will be no alcohol or drug tests,
but by the fact no one there will be drinking, if someone does, it will show up
quickly. Discuss these apartments with your clients and see if they want
to live quietly away from the fray. These apartments will rent for
$425/month. You can email alcohol-free@urbanhousingsolutions.org
with your client's name and contact information, and we will contact them when
it's time.
Not-So-Elderly
Housing...
Another
complex in the Chestnut Hill area will be for people 55 and over. We
don't want to call it senior housing...because old is merely a state of
mind. These are newly remodeled one-bedroom apartments with tile and wood
floors, ceiling fans, and black appliances. The apartments are inside of
a gated community with on-site parking and good lighting. They are
near the bus line and Murfreesboro Road. These apartments will also rent
for $425/month. You can go ahead and email not-so-elderly@urbanhousingsolutions.org
with your client's name and contact information, and we will contact them when
it's time.
Income-Based
Rent Applications on Hold
For the
month of February, we are not accepting applications for any apartments where
the rent is based upon income. This includes our homeless housing and our
HIV/AIDS apartments. Our waiting list is full and during February, we
will be moving people from that list into our vacant apartments.
We are
accepting applications for any of our apartments where the resident (or Section
8) pays the full rent indicated on our vacancy flyer.
Please check
back on March 4th, as we plan to re-open our waiting list on that
day.
If
you have questions or wish to schedule a housing appointment for your clients,
please call 726-2696, ext. 110, 116, or 133 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
