·         Youth services include: tutoring, study skills, activities leading to drop-out prevention, alternative secondary school offerings, summer employment linked directly to academic and occupational learning, paid and unpaid work experiences, occupational skills training, leadership development opportunities, supportive services, adult mentoring, follow-up services, comprehensive guidance and counseling (as appropriate)

·         Eligible Youth: ages 14-21, low-income, has one or more of the following:

·         deficient in basic literacy skills

·         a school dropout

·         homeless, runaway, or foster child

·         pregnant/a parent

·         an offender

·         an individual who requires additional assistance to complete an educational program or to secure and hold employment
