HPRP Housing: a Federal Program

Purpose: The Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-housing Program (HPRP) provides homelessness prevention assistance to households that would otherwise become homeless, and provides rapid re-housing assistance to persons who are homeless as defined by section 103 of the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act (42 U.S.C. 11302).

The Heartbeat Ministry exists for the sole purpose of meeting people's basic needs: food, clothing, and spiritual guidance. Each weekend on Friday and Saturday, the Heartbeat Ministry gives out food, clothing, and spiritual guidance to people in our community who are in need.

The Heartbeat Ministry's regular hours are Fridays and Saturdays from 10 am to 1 pm. The Heartbeat Ministry is located on the Hermitage Campus at Door #5.

    Services of the Regional Transportation AuthorityRTA operates five regional bus routes between downtown Nashville and Murfreesboro, Gallatin/Hendersonville, Franklin/Brentwood, Spring Hill/Thompson's Station and Springfield/Joelton. RTA works closely with the Metropolitan Transit Authority (www.nashvillemta.org) linking riders with 40 routes provided throughout Davidson County. In addition, RTA's rideshare program organizes vanpools and carpools for commuters throughout Middle Tennessee.

    Our representatives work with areas businesses to provide access, through the use of our transit system, to an expanded available workforce. Workers can depend on reliable transportation to get them to and from their jobs.

    Gang Resistance Education And Training (G.R.E.A.T.) is a gang and violence prevention program built around school-based, law enforcement officer-instructed classroom curricula. The program is intended as an immunization against delinquency, youth violence, and gang membership for children in the years immediately before the prime ages for introduction into gangs and delinquent behavior.
    G.R.E.A.T. has developed partnerships with nationally recognized organizations, such as the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and the National Association of Police Athletic Leagues. These partnerships encourage positive relationships among the community, parents, schools, and law enforcement officers.

    Formerly known as the Sudanese Women’s Center, this community agency focuses on helping refugees relocating to Middle Tennessee.  They teach English, help find jobs, teach how to drive, get resources, help fill out immigration forms, how to be independent and not depend on the government etc.  Nashville International Center for Empowerment is interested in collaborating with other agencies to help their families and/or train new people on different cultures.  PRM approved them to be like Catholic Charities and do ongoing services with families.
